Indications
- Medication purpose to treat overactive bladder.
- Overactive bladder defined as a storage problem causing sudden urges to urinate.
- Symptoms include frequent urination, strong sudden urges, and involuntary urine loss (incontinence).
- Vibegron mechanism: Relaxes the bladder muscle (detrusor).
- Result: Improved bladder capacity, reduced symptoms of overactive bladder.
Dosage and administration
- Read the Patient Information Leaflet from the pharmacist before starting vibegron and with each refill.
- Direct any questions to your doctor or pharmacist.
- Take the medication orally, with or without food, as instructed by the doctor, usually once daily.
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
- If difficulty swallowing, the tablet may be crushed and mixed with 1 tablespoonful (15 milliliters) of applesauce, taken immediately with water. Do not store the mixture for later use.
- Dosage determined by medical condition and treatment response.
- Take the medication consistently at the same time daily for optimal benefits.
- Inform your doctor if the condition does not improve or worsens.
Side effects
- Possible side effects: headache, nausea, or diarrhea.
- Inform your doctor or pharmacist promptly if these effects persist or worsen.
- Medication prescribed based on the doctor’s judgment of benefits outweighing risks.
- Many users experience the medication without serious side effects.
- Immediate reporting to the doctor for serious side effects, such as inability to empty the bladder (urinary retention).
- Rare but very serious allergic reactions may occur; seek medical help for symptoms like rash, itching/swelling (especially face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

Precautions
- Inform your doctor or pharmacist about any allergies, especially to Vibegron, and inquire about inactive ingredients.
- Provide your medical history, particularly other bladder problems, kidney problems, and liver problems, before using this medication.
- Inform your doctor or dentist about all products used, including prescription and nonprescription drugs and herbal products, before surgery.
- During pregnancy, use this medication only if necessary; discuss risks and benefits with your doctor.
- Unknown if the medication passes into breast milk; consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
