- Acetylcholine is essential for normal muscle function.
Dosage and administration
- Take this medication orally, with or without food, as instructed by your doctor. If using the liquid form, use a special measuring device/spoon to carefully measure the dose. Avoid using a household spoon to ensure accuracy.
- If using extended-release tablets, take as directed by your doctor, typically 1 to 2 times daily, with at least 6 hours between doses. Do not crush or chew extended-release tablets, as this can release the entire dose at once, increasing the risk of side effects. Do not split tablets unless they have a score line, and your doctor or pharmacist advises you to do so. Swallow whole or split tablets without crushing or chewing.
- Dosage is determined by your medical condition and response to treatment. Use the medication regularly to maximize benefits and take it at the same time(s) each day to aid in remembering.
- Do not increase your dose or use the drug more frequently or for longer than prescribed. Doing so will not hasten improvement and may increase the risk of side effects.
- Note that tablet forms of this medication may change color due to moisture, but this does not affect their efficacy.
- Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve or worsens.
