Dosage and administration

- Increased need for Ventolin Diskus may indicate poorly controlled or worsening asthma, prompting reevaluation of treatment.
- If the usual dose of Ventolin Diskus fails to provide relief or lasts for less than three hours, prompt medical advice should be sought.
- Only increase dosage or frequency of administration under medical guidance to avoid adverse effects.
- In cases of severe asthma attack not relieved by the usual dose, additional doses may be necessary, but immediate medical consultation is advised.
- Recommended dosage:
- Relief of acute bronchospasm: One inhalation (200 mcg) as needed.
- Prevention of bronchospasm: One inhalation (200 mcg) every 4-6 hours, up to three to four times per day.
- Prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm: One inhalation (200 mcg) 15 minutes before exercise.
- Maximum daily dose: Four inhalations (800 mcg).
- If further inhalations are needed for a severe attack, consult a doctor or hospital immediately. Regular use may be necessary despite maintenance therapy for bronchial asthma.
Side effects
- Ventolin Diskus may cause common side effects like headache, shaking, nervousness, dizziness, dry mouth/throat, and throat irritation.
- Less common side effects include feeling your heartbeat (palpitations), rapid heartbeat, muscle cramps, and low potassium.
- Get medical help right away for chest pain/tightness, irregular heartbeat, severe allergic reactions (trouble breathing, swelling of face/lips/tongue/throat), high blood pressure, or worsening asthma symptoms after using Ventolin Diskus.
- Tell your doctor about any unusual side effects.
Precautions
